History Of TSP Coffee & Teas

It all began for us back in 1981, when we opened our first TSP store in the Galleria (Edina, MN).  For over 20 years, we continued selling the finest quality coffee’s, tea’s, and spices – while opening more speciality coffee stores and coffee bars. Today, we bring back that same wonderful aroma and fine quality taste.

Our coffee roaster scours the world to find rare and unique green beans.  They look for the finest quality available beans, found at high altitudes, which brings a much better flavor of coffee. They have the highest quality control over the beans, which includes having coffee cuppings.

Coffee cupping (or coffee tasting) is like an art.  It is the practice of observing the tastes and aromas of brewed coffee. A standard coffee cupping procedure involves deeply sniffing the coffee, then loudly slurping the coffee so it spreads to the back of the palate.  The coffee taster attempts to measure aspects of the coffee’s taste, specifically the body, sweeteners, acidity, flavor, and after taste.

We are proud to say we use the Swiss Water Process to decaffeinate all our decaf coffees. Waters from the coast mountains of British Columbia is used to gently remove the caffeine until the beans are 99.9% caffeine free.  You can be sure that no chemicals were used to remove the caffeine from the coffee.

We bring that same quality in our tea’s, spice’s, and spices blends.  Including our #1 selling tea, the Market Spice Cinnamon-Orange tea.  It is naturally sweetened, with no sugar added.  Our spice blends are created by two Culinary Certified Award Winning Executive Chefs.

We want to warn you though, when opening your bag of our coffee or tea – the aroma is explosive and the taste will have you coming back for more!
